| Christmas Mummers |
|
View Description
|
The Mummers, or "Jannies" as they were called in some parts of Newfoundland
and Labrador, were a welcome site, especially during the Christmas season. Young
and old alike welcomed the excitement of their visits. The mummers' knock at
the door, their costumes, music and dancing added to the christmas spirit, as
household members took turns guessing the names of the people behind the disguises. |

Signs of Spring |
View Description
| "Signs
of Spring" carries some of the elements of a spring day in
rural Newfoundland and Labrador. The lone iceberg, the sealskin
frames and the mounds of leftover snow add to the serenity of the
day. |
